Our Research
Our research spans terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, taxonomic province, and ecological processes. What unifies our work is the approach… We believe:
- Effective conservation happens when researchers work in lock-step with stake-holders and practioners. Therefore, we often work with the relevant agencies, organizations, and experts to frame an ecological or environmental problem, to ensure that our solutions are useful for management.
- Research should be grounded in theory. To answer difficult ecological questions, we adopt or contruct conceptual and mathematical frameworks to disentangle process from pattern.
- Diversity is a strength. Modern ecological and environmental problems require an interdisciplinary approach. By continuously learning new techniques, growing our networks, and trying new things, our lab seeks to gather a diverse array of perspectives and tools.
